Common Views present their methodology, of applying a commoning perspective and a social-ecological re-framing of contested issues within the context of arts engagement. They explore how this methodology has evolved over the course of their projects, beginning with their work with Bedouin communities in the Negev desert and continuing with projects in Poland and Germany.

The Common Views collective, formed in 2019 by artists David Behar Perahia and Dan Farberoff, conduct process-based, site-specific projects, addressing contested issues in local context, within a wider social-ecological, commoning perspective. Previous Common Views projects have taken place in the Middle East and in Europe, with upcoming ones planned in Africa and South America.This program is part of a lecture series by the Shared Campus platform, Zurich University of the Arts, as part of one of the Summer Schools of CAMP notes on education:

The two-week Summer School wants to impact commoning strategies in fine arts, and curatorial education by inviting students, staff and external guests to co-teach and teach each other by sharing and discussing their situated experiences of practice and theory in an open and trustworthy way. Students are part of the Shared Campus platform, a network of eight partner universities from Switzerland, Great Britian, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Singapore.

Ökologische Versöhnung in der Arbeit von Common Views

Common Views stellen ihre Methodik vor, die auf der Anwendung einer gemeinsamen Perspektive und einer sozial-ökologischen Neuformulierung umstrittener Themen im Kontext des künstlerischen Engagements beruht. Sie untersuchen, wie sich diese Methodik im Laufe ihrer Projekte entwickelt hat, beginnend mit ihrer Arbeit mit Beduinengemeinschaften in der Negev-Wüste und weiterführend mit Projekten in Polen und Deutschland.

Das Kollektiv Common Views, das 2019 von den Künstlern David Behar Perahia und Dan Farberoff gegründet wurde, führt prozessbasierte, ortsspezifische Projekte durch, die sich mit umstrittenen Themen im lokalen Kontext auseinandersetzen und dabei eine umfassendere sozial-ökologische und gemeinschaftliche Perspektive einnehmen. Frühere Common-Views-Projekte haben im Nahen Osten und in Europa stattgefunden, weitere sind in Afrika und Südamerika geplant.

Dieses Programm ist Teil der Vortragsreihe der Shared Campus Plattform, Zürcher Hochschule der Künste, im Rahmen einer der Summer Schools von CAMP notes on education.Die zweiwöchige Summer School will Einfluss nehmen auf Kunst- und kuratorische Ausbildung mit Strategien der Gemeinschaft. Wir laden Studierende, Mitarbeiter*innen und externe Gäste ein, sich gegenseitig zu unterrichten und zu lehren, indem wir situierte Erfahrungen in Praxis und Theorie offen und vertrauensvoll austauschen und diskutieren. Die Studierenden sind Teil der Shared Campus Plattform, einem Netzwerk von acht Partneruniversitäten aus der Schweiz, Großbritannien, Taiwan, Hongkong und Singapur.
